Audi a5 and Audi a8
With the many different series of Audis, it can sometimes be difficult to keep the different ones apart. For example, what is the difference between an Audi a5 and Audi a8? The answer is, there are many differences. In fact, the Audi a5 and Audi a8 boast more differences than similarities, except that they are both popular cars made by the Audi car company in Germany. It is important to know about these differences if you are a little confused about what makes an a5 an a5 and what makes an a8.
Audi a5
The Audi a5 is considered to be a mid-size, or executive, size car and has been manufactured in Germany since 2007. If you are familiar with the Audi a4, you will see similarities between these two, as the a5 is basically a two-door version of the a4 in its fourth generation stage. The Audi a5 is made under a parent company called Volkswagon Group and offers many features to entice the consumer to buy it. These features include the option to buy it in a 2 door coupe, 2 door convertible, or 5 door hatchback form.
Performance features include either a v6 or v8 engine as well as a few diesel engines, and four different transmission types: 6 speed tiptronic, 6 speed manual, 8 speed multitronic, and 7 speed S tronic. Overall the Audi a5 was praised for its quality of build and design.
Audi a8
The Audi a8 is altogether a different style of car than the used Audi a5, being classed as a four-door large luxury car that comes in four or five seat styles. The Audi a8 are also produced under the parent company Volkswagon Group and come in saloon or sedan styles. They were first manufactured in 1994 and boast a classic front or four-wheel drive that is kind of a tradition in the Audi family.
The performance features on the Audi v8 include one gas engine and two diesels, as well as a 7 speed dual clutch S tronic or 8 speed tiptronic automatic transmission. Safety features included in the Audi a8 are offered because of the car’s larger size and include blind spot monitor and speed limit display.
